Paris Fashion Week recap: Céline, Balenciaga and Loewe
After a busy weekend at PFW, we round up our favourite three shows
There's just a few precious days left of Paris Fashion Week, but already we've seen some standout moments from the likes of Dior, Céline, Balenciaga and Loewe. While Dior (watch the full show here) explored the notion of a blue uniform for millennials, at Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia experimented with off-kilter tailoring and celebrated the maison's 100th birthday with a series of voluminous balloon dresses that referenced iconic silhouettes from the house's archives.
Over at Loewe, Jonathan Anderson used an eclectic array of patterns, textures and materials to create a collection that was the epitome of grown-up luxury - without any of the boring bits. Lastly, at Céline, Phoebe Philo fused utilitarian basics like anoraks, pant suits and coats with a series of bubble-hemmed dresses with empire waists. Chic, yet subdued, it spoke to the modern working woman.
