And that's a wrap! NYFW farewells its spring/summer shows with a stellar presentation from some of America's powerhouse designers

Coach, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren. It says a lot about the New York fashion industry that the last couple of days were reserved for these all-American designers. In fact, if you overlook the fact that Stuart Vevers at Coach is actually British, the identities of all four of these houses are wrapped in American ideology: redemption, reinvention and aspiration. It's no surprise that each designer plays on these themes each season, from the club-kid Americana at Coach, the jetsetting free spirits at Michael Kors, the flashy racewear and '90 power suits at Ralph Lauren and the retro-fabulous eclectics at Marc Jacobs.
