A converted horse stable in New York's meatpacking district set the scene for Ellery's Resort 2016 presentation. While models walked down the runway to drum beats and chilled tunes, guests took in the crsip silhouettes of the new collection. With a focus on ruffles large and small, Kym Ellery's muse for the season - Anita Pallenberg - directed the collection into a slightly mystical realm.

While Ellery's signature design flourishes were ever present in the bell sleeves, flares and oversized coats - the Perth-born designer mixed it up by using a variety of rich fabrications. Silk velvet, bouclé binding, twill suiting and appliqué punctuated the mostly monochromatic collection - while splashes of burgundy, copper, blue and multicoloured pleating brought some vivacity to the range. Accompanied by some stunning campaign images, this was another assured collection from one of Australia's biggest design talents.
