We take an exclusive sneak peek at the Chanel Cruise '16 collection with a shoot shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself

No doubt you've seen an Instagram or two of the incredible Chanel Cruise '16 show staged in Cuba today. As A-listers and fashion elite piled into Havana (many probably visiting for the first time) to watch the spectacle of the open-air runway show, it might have been hard to pay close attention to the ready-to-wear on display, save for the live music, dancing and general carnivale atmosphere on the streets. However, a closer look at the Cruise '16 shoot in the gallery above will reveal just how inspirational the Cuban capital has proved to King Karl.

Packed with ruffles, in-your-face florals, wide-leg trousers, tweed twin-sets and even a Cuba-specific print of vintage candy-coloured cars - the looks are topped off with Chanel's chic version of a Panama hat. Each outfit, modelled by Chanel's favourite Argentinian model Mica Arganaraz, is awash in the colours of Havana's iconic '50s and '60s-era cars - lemon, mint green, aqua, peach, candy pink and baby blue. Click through the gallery above to get a feel for the collection and stay tuned for an update on the full Cuban Cruise '16 show tomorrow.
