Global luxury powerhouse, LVMH has narrowed the field down to eight lucky finalists for their 2017 Prize for Young Fashion Designers

As one of the most esteemed luxury groups in the world responsible for brands like Dior, Céline, Givenchy and of course Louis Vuitton, LVMH knows talent when they see it, which is why getting your name on the finalist list for their prestigious Prize for Young Fashion Designers is an up-and-coming designers dream. Not only does it confirm to the emerging designer they've made the right career choice but the overall winner garners an extraordinary opportunity both financially and developmentally in the notoriously cut-throat fashion industry, receiving a prize of 300,000 Euros and a year of mentoring from LVMH. Aside from the main prize, LVMH also awards a Graduate Prize which provides three winners the opportunity to join one of LVMH's 'Maisons' for one year.

The eight finalists were selected following their showroom presentations earlier this month in Paris (from an original field of 1,200 applicants, according to an interview with Delphine Arnault for The finalists will meet with the members of the Jury  - a roll call of who's who in fashion including Maria Grazia Chiuri, Karl Lagerfeld and Riccardo Tisci - who will then select and announce the winners on June 16 at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris.
