Model, activist, writer, actor and recent university grad, it's a wonder that Hari Nef has any time to sleep. In the past year alone, she became the first transgender woman to be signed to IMG, walked for Gucci, Hood by Air, VFiles, H&M and more, made her television debut on Transparent and landed covers of Wonderland and Frische, among others. Now, the 23-year-old adds another notch to her chic belt. Overnight, she was announced as the new face of cult accessories brand Mansur Gavriel.
In the past, designers Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel have preferred to use faceless models, exotic animals and chic flora in their campaigns, making Nef the first face to front the duo's cult label. "We think Hari is very beautiful, and were excited to shoot her," said the designers of their new appointment. "She is real and has great energy." Shot by twin sister Tanya and Zhenya Posternak, the new campaign sees Nef against a blue sky with a mini bucket bag and the new Sun bag, a chic top handle tote with a front tie, which made it's debut at the brand's A/W16 presentation in New York and will no doubt be coming to a wish list near you.
