Dries Van Noten is the latest fashion designer to star in his own documentary, aptly titled Dries. The Dogwood production film will take a closer look at the successful 25-year career of fashion designer Dries Van Noten.
The film was directed, produced and written by Reiner Holzemer, who followed around the Belgian-born designer for 12 months while he created four collections. Dries will also feature behind the scenes action of atelier and his home, and a look back at Van Noten's fruitful career in fashion.
Holzemer recently explained to Variety how Dries, who's usually immensely private, took some persuading to participate in the project. "It took me a very long time to convince Dries to share his passions, his creative and intimate world in front of a camera," explained Holzemer. "I followed him for a whole year and I think I came as close to him and his world as it is possible. I hope the result is a very personal insight into his life and career."
"Dries is a fascinating account of a fiercely independent designer whose use of vibrant colour and texture has set him out as a fashion giant and innovator," said Holzemer.
