The British designer and daughter of Paul McCartney debuts her first menswear collection

The signs were clear: From the scattered vinyls and Abbey Road Studios setting where her father recorded hits with his fellow Beatles in the 1960s to the designer's own admission of her father's influence, "Yeah definitely, there's a lot of inspiration obviously in him in the collection," she told press after the show last night in London, Stella McCartney's first ever menswear collection had a case of Beatlemania.

Shown alongside her Spring 2017 women's collection, McCartney's menswear offering was a perfect transplant of what we've come to love with her womenswear - relaxed yet precise tailoring, overblown proportions, innovative prints and tricked up with clever, unexpected details and a good dose of British humour (See: a marine blue suit worn with socks, poolslides and a mullet).

In a line-up of intriguing, slightly scruffy male talent, the collection offers a fresh and directional new approach to men's wardrobes. "It just felt like the right time," she explained. "It felt like the womenswear was really in the perfect place to then have her man in her life and just to offer that wardrobe to men."
