Oscar de la Renta is set to close Australian Fashion Week
#theburodaily
If you thought Australian Fashion Week was all about the little local labels, think again. In a surprising move, announced last night, internationally renowned label (and Carrie Bradshaw favourite) Oscar de la Renta is set to present its spring/summer '16 collection as the closing show for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. Slated to run on the last day of MBFA - Friday, May 20 at 8pm - at Carriageworks in Eveleigh, the move brings a touch of international focus to the local week-long event.
"We are very excited to partner with IMG and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia for our first show in Sydney. We look forward to bringing the world of Oscar de la Renta to stylish Australians," says Alex Bolen, CEO of Oscar de la Renta LLC. The fashion house, launched in 1965 by Oscar de la Renta is currently under the creative direction of Peter Copping, and encompasses ready-to-wear, accessories, bridal, eyewear, jewellery, childrenswear, homewares and fragrance.
MBFWA kicks off Monday, May 16. For more details on the MBFWA schedule, head to mbfashionweek.com/australia
