The luxury fashion e-tailer founded by Natalie Massenet in 2000 has announced a merger with Italian discount designer website Yoox.
"Today, we open the doors to the world's biggest luxury fashion store. It is a store that never closes, a store without geographical borders, a store that connects with, inspires, serves and offers millions of style-conscious global consumers access to the finest designer labels in fashion," Massenet announced via Instagram with the above picture. "Net-a-Porter, the London-based high-end fashion website, is to merge with Yoox, the Italian discount designer shopping portal, creating an online shopping giant with sales of more than $1.3 billion."
The deal is set to become effective from September. We don't know what this means for the Net-a-Porter site, or its sister site, The Outnet, but you'll hear about when we do.
