32-year-old Sophia Amoruso, founder of a fashion empire, the #GIRLBOSS movement (the title of her book) and amasser of a net worth of $280 million in ten short years of trading, has this week seen her Nasty Gal enterprise file for bankruptcy protection.

Having started her business selling vintage clothes on eBay at the age of 22, Amoruso' venture was so successful that she became the only Millenial newcomer to the Forbes Richest Self-Made Women list this year. Amoruso stepped down as CEO of her company in 2015, operating as Nasty Gal's executive chairman but it is reported that she is now resigning from that post.
