When you think of flagship Louis Vuitton stores, it's easy to rattle off the big guns: Champs Elysees in Paris, Bond Street in London, or even the architecturally amazing Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. After all, location is everything. But if you're talking million dollar views, there's one store that could rival the biggest and best LV addresses in the world - and it's totally not what you'd expect. Enter Louis Vuitton's newly relocated Queenstown store. With jaw-dropping views of Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps, the 'Mountain Resort' store is a perfect reflection of Louis Vuitton's values: travel, adventure and impeccable quality. Surely no one can top a store that faces the snow-capped mountains and natural beauty of New Zealand's longest lake?

Stunning views aside, the store resides in the new Skyline building on the corner of Marine Parade and Church Street, which makes perfect use of passing foot traffic. Inside, the store features decorative highlights unique to the South Island - from a 40,000BC Kauri wooden table to a Schist stone feature wall, which took two weeks to lay out with stone taken from nearby town Gibbston. Set out over a single level, the space even has a cosy fireplace and inviting sheepskin lounge which overlooks the lake. Of course, this being Louis Vuitton, there are charming details such as wall units made from leather belts imported from the Paris maison.

Officially opening with a private cocktail party last week attended by valued clients, press and Louis Vuitton South Asia President Christopher Kilaniotis and Louis Vuitton Oceania Managing Director Adam Hamzah, guests toasted the new store with glasses of Dom Perignon and watched as an artist painted NZ's native bird Tui onto pieces of Monogram Canvas luggage.

Offering a tight edit of Louis Vuitton's finest leather goods, travel luggage and soft furnishings like pillows and throw blankets, the new Queenstown store might not be the largest LV offering, but it might just have the most impressive outlook.

Louis Vuitton's new Queenstown store is located at Tenancy 5, 9-11 Marine Parade.
