On the first anniversary of the global partnership between UNICEF and Louis Vuitton, the French fashion house and the children's charity are working together to help raise awareness for children in desperate and urgent situations worldwide.

"Nearly 250 million children live in countries affected by conflict and millions more face risks from natural hazards and fast-spreading epidemics," read a statement from the brand. "Every day, somewhere around the world, a child wakes up to a life filled with violence, persecution and hardship. Louis Vuitton renews its promise to bring hope for a better life to these children with the launch of #MakeAPromise day."

Inspired by the children themselves, the initiative asks for help in raising awareness by linking pinkies with a loved one, raising awareness online with the hashtag #MakeAPromise or by purchasing the unique 'Silver Lockit' necklace or bracelet made especially for the project, of which $300 from each sale will go directly to UNICEF.

In 2016, this partnership raised $2.5 million which was contributed to providing water for 4.5 million children and their families in Syria.

How to participate:
1. Wear the Silver Lockit and cross pinkies with your partner (a friend, colleague, family member or loved one) to seal your promise.
2. Take a photo with your faces, hands, and Silver Lockit visible.
3. Post the photo to social media using the hashtag #MAKEAPROMISE
4. Tag your friends and ask them to #MAKEAPROMISE as well.
