Both Tom Ford and Gucci have announced plans to show their next collections in London: Gucci will present Cruise 2016 and Tom Ford will hold his first ever menswear show under his namesake label during the London Collections: Men in February. It's an unprecedented move for both houses and follows in the wake of a steady stream of labels doing the same: Burberry Prorsum and Moschino have already bid arrivederci to Milan in favour of showing their menswear in London.

It's an interesting choice, particularly for Gucci, given the current trend for fashion houses to choose increasingly exotic locales for their Cruise collections - Chanel has already announced they'll be showing Cruise 2016 in Cuba and this year's shows saw the fashion pack jet set from Palm Springs to Seoul to Cannes. London will give Gucci's collection an entirely different flavour, but given the magical looks he sent down the runway for S/S '16, we're not about to doubt the genius of Alessandro Michele.
