Earlier this year, Burberry announced plans to completely merge its womenswear and menswear collections for spring/summer '17, reduce its shows to just two per year and make ready-to-wear available for purchase immediately. It's a move the brand were testing out slowly (men and women had started to appear in all shows), but marked a seismic shift in the way some brands wanted to present their collections. Not surprisingly, other houses like Michael Kors and Tom Ford, swiftly followed suit and moved to a see-now-buy-now model, which we've already started to see in motion at New York Fashion Week.
So it's with plenty of anticipation that we await Christopher Bailey's presentation tonight in London. It might be in the wee hours of the morning in Australia (4.30am, to be exact), so you'll be forgiven for sleeping through it in real time. But won't it be a nice thing to wake up to tomorrow?
