Whether you're an avid fan of Kate Middleton's style or not, the arrival of fashion label Reiss in Australia is something you're going to care about. Sure, the brand is favoured by the Duchess of Cambridge owing to its immense popularity in the UK, but it's also home to sleek, quality basics and directional pieces for guys and girls (think: Cos, Country Road, Witchery et al).
Reiss will welcome its first Australian flagship in Melbourne's St Collins Lane in May, followed by a concession in David Jones' Pacific Fair store on the Gold Coast, then more David Jones entries and an e-commerce site in July (reiss.com/au). Completing the Australian rollout will be the opening of another standalone at Chadstone - The Fashion Capital in October.
The expansion Down Under is part of the brand's wider international focus. Already boasting 140 sites in 15 countries, the English brand was established in 1971 and has gained a loyal following for its unique, affordable luxury approach to design. Even though Reiss currently delivers to Australia, unless you've been to London lately (or the newly opened stores in Canada, Hong Kong or Germany), you won't have had tangible access to the product until now. Who's ready to book a trip to Melbourne next month?
