They don’t make campaign films like this anymore…

A couple of weeks ago, we caught our first exciting glimpse of the upcoming Erdem x H&M collection, which drops into stores November 2. Filled with the same lush florals and English eccentricities designer Erdem Moralioglu has become renowned for, the high street collab has also, interestingly, been accompanied by a short film shot by Australia's own Baz Luhrmann. No biggie.

A master of grandiose filmmaking, the Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet director has used his vision to recreate an extravagant world of trysts, love triangles and sibling rivalry in "The Secret Life of Flowers". Set in a sprawling country estate known in the film as Reddham Gardens, Luhrmann introduces an incredible mise-en-scene featuring the most lush flower decorations we've seen outside of a Dior show. Featuring a Miss Havisham-esque character played by Harriet Walter and a set of young friends played by actors Tom Rhys Harries, Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Ruby Dagnall, the short film is cinematically way, way beyond your usual fashion campaign.

The modern love story is complemented by close-up shots of the Erdem x H&M collection - the suits, shoes and gowns are complemented by the wild beauty of a dilapidated mansion filled with flowers and a dinner party with guests played by models  Saskia de Brauw, Imaan Hammam, Grace Hartzel. Watch the video below and see what we mean.

Backed by an exclusive new track by Years & Years called 'Hypnotised', we're detecting shades of Great Expectations, The Great Gatsby and even Brideshead Revisited all at once. If you're keen to get to know the process behind it, check out the making of video below.
