Jenny from the Block is Paul Marciano’s latest GUESS girl
Jennifer Lopez is like a fine wine, she just gets better with age; we know this and so does Paul Marciano who has named the 48 year-old actress / signer / dancer / entrepreneur / philanthropist as the face of his latest GUESS campaign. Lopez follows the steps of denim wearing icons who came before her; Claudia Schiffer, Anna Nicole Smith and Naomi Campbell, or more recently It-girls of fashion (and Instagram); Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin. Here Jenny from the Block chats her personal style and favourite GUESS moments.
1. What trend will you never get tired of?
The perfect pair of jeans and a t-shirt will always be the perfect thing to wear no matter what. They will never go out of style.
2. How do you describe your personal style + how has it evolved through the years?
I would call my personal style glamorous and classic yet edgy. I'm a singer, dancer, entertainer on one side and then an actress on the other so for me it's about mixing those styles. Fashion is something that you can never really put your finger on. There are always trends, but for me personally my style is always evolving and always changing, but what's classic is classic, and that never changes, that always stays the same.
3. Who is your favorite GUESS Girl of all time?
Eva Herzigova or Anna Nicole Smith.
4. Do you remember your first GUESS purchase?
A pair of GUESS jeans. I remember wearing them for the first time and thinking they were the classic and perfect fitting pair of jeans.
5. What is your go-to denim fit?
High waisted skinny jeans.
6. Who is your style icon?
Elizabeth Taylor or Diana Ross or Barbra Streisand.
7. What's the best piece of advice you've been given?
Always listen to yourself and listen to your gut, because only you know what's right for you.
8. Who's the next big thing? The star on the horizon?
This year I'm continuing my Vegas residency, All I Have, in addition to shooting season two of World of Dance. I've also finished work on season three of Shades of Blue and my film Second Act, both of which I'm excited to share with everyone. I'm also always working on new music - currently both a Spanish-language album and an English-language album.
