Homegrown swimwear label, We Are Handsome, partner with global e-commerce giant Yoox on a capsule collection of swim and activewear to raise funds for the Great Barrier Reef Foundation

With the first quarter of 2017 bringing the reef's second consecutive bleaching event, the affected area of Australia's natural wonder has now reached the size of Italy.

Galvanised by these findings, Australian swim and activewear label, We Are Handsome, partnered with ethical and sustainable fashion portal, YOOXygen, partner of online retailer YOOX of the Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter and The Outner group to create a reef-inspired capsule collection to raise funds for projects with large-scale positive impact on the reef, developing solutions to the threats facing this natural wonder. 

"Working with YOOX on this campaign has been a fantastic experience for us to contribute to a cause that is so close to our hearts. Having explored the Great Barrier Reef several times, we know its value, significance and beauty - inside and out. We couldn't be more thrilled to partner with YOOX and their efforts to bring awareness to the dangers that face the Reef," said Jeremy Somers, We Are Handsome's Founder & Creative Director.

Launching today, as a a marker of solidarity for Earth Day, the collection is released in tandem with news that YOOX will partner with Parson's The New School that will help to teach ethical fashion practices to the next generation of fashion designers.
