73-year-old fashion photography legend Peter Lindbergh, famous for his evocative black and white shots of '90s supers like Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford, has just been announced to shoot the 2017 Pirelli calendar.

Lindbergh last worked with the Italian brand in 2014, when he produced a series of shots (including the above image) with Patrick Demarchelier to celebrate the 50th anniversary edition. He first shot the calendar in 1996 and again in 2002, when he made the landmark decision to photograph actresses rather than models.

What he has planned for the upcoming edition, which will be unveiled in November, is anyone's guess - especially since he follows on from Annie Leibovitz's highly publicised 2016 take, which featured a naked Amy Schumer, Serena Williams and Yoko Ono, among others.

Guess who's back to shoot the 2017 Pirelli calendar?
