Want to know who's set to be Australia and New Zealand's next major designer talent? Look no further than the regional winners of the 2017/18 Woolmark Prize Australia and New Zealand: Aussie menswear pro Blair Archibald and Kiwi design duo Harman Grubiša. Selected by a panel of seven judges, including designer (and previous Womenswear winner) Gabriela Hearst, Harper's Bazaar editor Kellie Hush, David Jones General Manager of Womenswear Damian Burke, social influencer Nicole Warne, Head of Design at R.M. Williams Jeremy Hershan, Men's Style Fashion Director Kim Payne and The Woolmark Company Managing Director Stuart McCullough, the two winners will receive $70,000 in funding with the opportunity to compete in the international final.

Wining the prestigious award even at a regional level gives winners mentoring support from a global panel of experts, as well as Woolmark licence. The designers Blair Archibald and Harman Grubiša will spend the next six to seven months developing a capsule collection made in Merino wool, which will be judged at the global finals. While winning the top gong is surely the ultimate honour, getting the Woolmark seal of approval is surely an added bonus, epecially for a local designer.
