Back in June, we reported on Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci's landmark decision to show his spring/summer '16 womenswear ready-to-wear in New York instead of the usual Paris. Timed to coincide with the opening of Givenchy's Manhattan flagship, the show has also made headlines by opening up over 1,000 invitations to the public, plus fashion students and fashion faculty members. Kind of a genius move, really.

And, adding further fire to the Givenchy publicity machine is the not-so-small fact that performance artist Marina Abramović has art directed the show with alongside Tisci, plus she'll be doing a special performance during the show. Abramović most recently visited our shores, to great success and despite misunderstandings with the likes of Jay-Z is a veritable art world superstar.
No word yet on which of Givenchy's high-profile girl gang will be storming the runway, but based on history and the last A/W '14 campaign? Our bets are on Mariacarla Boscono, Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls, Jamie Bochert, and possibly even Candice Swanepoel.
