Gigi Hadid has landed her first-ever fitness gig with Reebok, and it's a match made in modelling heaven
It was only a couple of weeks ago that we witnessed Gigi Hadid go all Rocky Balboa on serial pest Vitalii Sediuk, unleashing the "fighter" inside of her (G's words not ours) when the celebrity prankster attempted to grab her outside the MaxMara show. But now Hadid is back in the ring - only this time as the latest ambassador for Reebok's #PerfectNever campaign.
Hadid will follow in the champion footsteps of UFC champion Ronda Rousey, who launched the #PerfectNever movement in July. The campaign aims to encourage women to celebrate their imperfections and use fitness as a form of escape, which Hadid herself is a firm believer in. "Working out isn't only physical for me," Hadid explained. "It's mental. It helps me escape the noise in my head. It's the only time my mind goes quiet."
Besides rocking a killer six-pack and being one of the leading millennial models of her generation, Hadid is a perfect fit for the activewear brand. A former equestrian rider and volleyball player, the boxing devotee has always lived an active life, but admits she can be hard on herself. "When I was a competitive athlete, I used to be so focused on being perfect that my coaches would take me out of competing altogether," she says. "I'd focus on my mistakes, which would breed more missteps - a domino effect, until I learned to change the channel - to refocus, reset. It was my mistakes, my imperfections that motivated me most."
