Last year, Gucci transformed the Cloisters of London's Westminster Abbey into anglomania for the cruise 2017 runway show. This historic event marked the first time the esteemed British location was used for a fashion show.

And it seems the luxury Italian label is into its boundary-pushing locations, as this year's cruise show will be held at the Palatine Gallery at Pitti Palace in Florence, Italy. This will also be the first time the Italian gallery has ever hosted a fashion show. "Florence is an unquestionable point of reference for Gucci and (creative director) Alessandro Michele," explains Gucci president and chief executive officer Marco Bizzarri.

The fashion show is also a part of a cultural project named "Primavera di Boboli", which is designed to help restore the Boboli Gardens in Florence over the next couple of years. Gucci is said to donate 2 million euros to help restore the gardens, which you can view from the Palatina Gallery. "This collaboration represents a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and sustain Florence's cultural splendour and I would like to thank all the institutions that are involved. Gucci is a global brand with strong roots in Florence," explains Bizzarri.
