I got you babe: Marc Jacobs lands Cher for his latest campaign
What a win
Rihanna and Dior? Old news. Ciara and Cavalli? So yesterday. We reckon Marc Jacobs has won the battle of which-pop-star-can-I-tap-for-my-campaign after his latest appointment for A/W '15. We're talking, of course, about 69 year old Cher, who was a pop music legend waaaay before Ciara and Rihanna were even in nappies.
Eagle-eyed observers might have clued onto Jacob's girl crush when he accompanied Cher to this year's Met Ball. Cher, wearing a sequinned gown from the Marc Jacobs A/W '15 collection looked typically flawless, especially for a woman pushing 70.

Judging by the just-released shots of the new campaign, Cher's trademark long black hair and porcelain skin are the perfect counterpoint to the gothic '40s silhouettes of the A/W '15 collection. And, given that legendary Vogue editor Diana Vreeland was Jacobs' muse for the new season, we're totally not surprised that he picked an equally bold and sartorially fearless woman to front his campaign.

For those who don't remember or are simply too young, Cher was the original queen of red-carpet shock frocks. From her sheer and bedazzled head-turner at the 1988 Oscars (where she picked up a statuette for Best Actress) to her favoured bikini-silhouette numbers, we've picked a few of our favourite style moments from the singer's long and illustrious career in the spotlight.
