Model Arizona Muse returns in Chanel's Spring Summer 2017 advertising campaign photographed by Karl Lagerfeld and styled by Carine Roitfeld

In the wake of a tech-inspired runway show replete with Daft Punk-esque helmuts, laser-beam prints and a towering set of cable-laden servers, the latest Chanel campaign embraces eclecticism with a retro-futuristic mood.

From cyber punk Anime (see: Arizona Muse's bantu knots and cornrows) to a gothic Lolita and an homage to Mdme Gabrielle Coco herself, the campaign at once embraces the ultra-modern and the hyper-feminine, capturing what the press release refers to as "the metamorphosis of a contemporary creature".

A fabulous creature, indeed.
