In January, rumours started swirling that the Saint Laurent creative director was preparing to exit the house he is widely credited with reinventing, amid contract disagreements with Kering. Just yesterday Slimane revealed shots of fashion icon Jane Birkin in the equally famed Le Smoking tuxedo jacket; now, he's come full circle with Cara Delevingne, who he cast in his first ever Saint Laurent collection back in 2013 and who now reappears in the house's couture.

Delevingne is dressed in La Collection de Paris, which Slimane presented in a silent runway show in the house's new couture studios during Paris Fashion Week. The '80s-inspired collection includes a sequinned black bustier dress with oversized buckle belt, signature black tux and striking heart-shaped fur coat.

The campaign was shot on March 17 in New York, with Slimane revealing the four shots on the Saint Laurent Twitter overnight. It begs the question, is he ticking all his boxes before going out with a bang?
