Beyoncé's Ivy Park activewear range is out into the world - and it already has more Instagram followers than you
This morning, in typically random Beyoncé fashion, the singer dropped a sexy Instagram pic of herself hanging seductively inside some gymnast rings. The caption pointed to a brand new Instagram account - @weareivypark - and naturally, some of her 65.7 million Instagram followers were curious enough to click the link and start following. And despite being just eight hours old @weareivypark already has 58.4k followers, such is the power of Queen Bey.
The move isn't a total surprise to Beyoncé followers. In November last year the pop star announced she was teaming up with Topshop owner Philip Green to launch her own sports and activewear line. While not branded Topshop (it's a standalone label), Ivy Park is set to drop on April 14 and will be available to purchase from Topshop, Net-a-Porter and Selfridges, among others. Given it has the powerful backing of Topshop, global retail outlets and Beyoncé's midas touch (plus, the cute nod to daughter Blu Ivy) - we're betting Ivy Park will be a bona fide hit. (And the trend for musicians turning their hand to design is certainly not new - Rihanna and Kanye did it at NYFW, while Pharrell has his work with G-Star).
While the Ivy Park Instagram account revelas just a few looks from the upcoming collection, this video gives us a glimpse of more looks. It also hints are where the 'Park' in the brand's name derived from.
