Love pairing Acne jeans with a vintage 1970s Adidas t-shirt? Or how about a multi-coloured Kenzo romper with some Supreme kicks? If the answer is yes, then read on my friend. This fresh designer store is going to be your new favourite haunt.

Opening on 1 March in Newtown, ‘King of the Jungle' is a high-end concept store pairing a luxury fitout with a rotation of hand-picked globally sourced vintage pieces and designer labels, nestled between the bohemian cafes and vintage stores on Newtown's King Street precinct

Alongside big name designers such as Kenzo, Louis Vuitton, Supreme and Acne, King of the Jungle will stock vintage pieces including 1960-90's sportswear focusing on Adidas and Nike, 1950-80's Japanese and European workwear.

The store will also stock a range of accessory labels, many of which have never been represented in Australia before. These include BIIS jewellery and leather (Spain), High Society jewellery (USA), Onkler sunglasses (Australia), Stupid Krap pins and patches (Australia), Noncense ceramic incense burners (Australia) and Tsubota Pearl accessories (Japan) to name a few.

Owners Matthew Preisz and Kamara Thumbadoo have a shared passion for conceptual design, fashion as style (over trend) and rare vintage curiosities, all of which have formed the foundation of their new concept store.

In their words, ‘the aim with King of the Jungle is to create a physical space to anchor a community of woke and like-minded individuals; the result feels soulful and authentic'.

King of the Jungle opens its doors on March 1.
