Touching down in Australia to offer her impressive styling expertise at Net-a-Porter's Style Suite at Audi Hamilton Island Race Week, London-based Holly Russell found time to chat to us about her fashion hit list.
What trends are you into this season?
The '70s, bohemian, eccentric, Victoriana and heritage tweed.
Your top five buys for this season?
Flares, a longline blazer, a suede bag, a silk, loose fitting blouse and a maxi dress.
Do you have any style rules that you abide by?
Always buy into investment pieces!
What would you say your go-to outfit is?
Jeans paired with a T-shirt and a blazer or leather jacket.
Is there any trend or item of clothing you would never wear?
Never say never. Although, I don't think I'd ever wear something that is too small.
Whose personal style do you admire?
Gabriele Hackworthy, fashion director at Porter magazine (and expat Aussie!) and the Olsen twins.
What clothes do you wear when you're just relaxing at home?
Cashmere track pants and a comfortable T-shirt.
In your opinion, what's an outfit that never fails to look chic?
A piece of great outerwear, such as The Row's wool wrap Augustus coat - you can wear it over anything, whether it's with trainers or heels and you'll look amazing.
I'm sure you get given a lot of clothes by designers, but what items would you actually go out and buy?
I don't get given clothes so I have to be very strategic about the way in which I build my wardrobe. I buy into new investment pieces every season.
Who are your all-time favourite designers or brands?
The Row, Saint Laurent, Etro and Gucci.
What do you think of Australian style?
I love their laid back approach to luxury and fashion forward styling.
