Poppy Delevingne: loves and obsessions
What happened when the blonde beauty hit Australian shores?
Aside from being Cara's big sis and Sienna Miller's bestie, English It-girl and model Poppy Delevingne is one of those ultra-connected, ultra-beautiful beings who exist just to make us envious of her fabulous lifestyle. We're talking about the girl who got hitched in Chanel couture in London then spent the following week celebrating again in Marrakech with Alexa Chung, Georgia May Jagger, Peter Dundas and Sienna Miller (talk about #squadgoals). If all this doesn't make you jealous, then the fact that she's extraordinarily friendly, down to earth and just as gorgeous in non-Instagram life, absolutely will.
Touching down in Melbourne this week to launch South African fast-fashion retailer MRP into Australia, we were lucky enough to chat to the stylish Brit about fronting the campaign for their women's line Oakridge and visiting Africa with designer friend Henry Holland to see how the brand's non-profit organisation MRP Foundation impacts on South African communities. Sales from MRP's leather sandals, selected Oakridge tanks and denim from going direct to the foundation, which focuses on improving education and skills development of young South Africans - surely a win-win for any shopaholic right?.
What's your favourite piece from the MRP collection?
From the edit I curated, the white lace dress - very Game of Thrones!
Can you tell us about travelling to South Africa and seeing some of the work the MRP Foundation does?
It was so wonderful to combine shooting for a brand while doing something for charity. Seeing first-hand the work that MRP does for children in Africa was amazing.
Did you learn anything from the experience?
Totally. I learned more about the foundation and to see all the children using technology such as tablets and iPads was an amazing and invaluable experience.
What are you and Henry most excited about seeing during your trip?
Sinking into some beers and visiting the National Gallery of Victoria.
