Girl on the rise: Aussie model Stephanie Field
After bravely turning down the chance to model at 13 to finish her higher school education, Sydney-born, country-raised Stephanie Field was quickly snapped up the moment she was at liberty, being flown to Paris for Fashion Week.
Having been raised on the land - an upbringing she describes, "I wouldn't have it any other way," - she was once again swept up to star in one of the country's most covetable campaigns, for Westfield Winter 2017.
Alongside a cast of her own family, the campaign is a chic ode to rural life in which Field was, of course, quite at home. Here, the young model discusses her burgeoning career and where she's off to next.
What has been the most surreal moment on set for you?
I think that the most surreal moment on the Westfield set for me was the fact that my mum and cousins were actually there. I kept thinking it was a dream because it's something so special. I feel so fortunate that I have been able to have the experience of shooting with my family because most people will never have the opportunity to be able to do that. Also the fact that we were at Anlaby Station in SA was amazing because it felt like I was back at home on the land.
What do you do in your time off?
In my time off I like to catch up with my friends, hang out and relax - this industry keeps you on your feet so you definitely need some down time here and there. I used to study but I have actually just completed my Interior Design Course recently. Spending time with my family is also very important to me.
What is your secret beauty weapon?
I probably have two secret beauty weapons. My first would be my dermatologists face cleanser, and moisturiser (although if I don't have that handy Cetaphil is a must). Then my second would be Bioderma - it is Micellar Water and it is a very good make up remover.
What was your favourite look from the shoot?
My favourite look from the shoot would be where I'm wearing a green jumper, a skirt and then a scarf over the skirt to make it look very cool and 'country chic'; I'm also loving the heels and socks - it is very practical in winter.
What are you listening to, reading and watching right now?
Right now I'm listening to "The 90s" it's a remix by Charlie Puth, I'm in the middle of reading 'The Course of Love by Alain De Botton' and I'm watching 'Outlander' but I'm only at the third episode although I'm loving it (parts of it are an eye opener and a bit gruesome for me).
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style changes from day to day - although I feel as though it's mostly very classic yet chic. I love Olivia Palermo's style; she dresses so simply yet looks so sophisticated at the same time.
Who are you favourite designers at the moment?
I'm loving McGraw, Gucci, Dion Lee, and Camilla and Marc at the moment. They are all very different styles but you can dress all of those designers up or down - from day to night with one simple change (whether that be a jacket, a pair of shoes or even just putting your hair back in a tight high bun).
What's next on your shopping list?
Next on my shopping list - I actually don't know about anything particular. But I'm probably in need of a new cream/beige handbag. I don't have one and I've been on the look out for one for some time but I haven't found the right one at the moment.
