Editor's choice: Rebecca Caratti's favourite looks from Steven Khalil
Embellished elegance
His inaugural show was a vision of exquisite beading and form-fitting gowns that remained true to Khalil's signature style. Among the show-stopping gowns there were also more wearable modern elements, such as pencil skirts, peplum jackets and blouses - evidence of the new direction Khalil is taking his brand.
LOOK 1
I'm partial to a jumpsuit and this tailored black number was a standout for me. Modern, sexy and oh-so-chic, it's a red carpet worthy and modern take on the tux.
LOOK 2
The structured peplum jacket in this look was a great contrast to the delicate beaded pencil midi-skirt. This look was the ultimate in ladylike luxe, with the oversized jacket lapels in perfect proportion to the peplum.
LOOK 3
Navy and black is always a winning colour combination. The beaded navy overlay was stunning and really made this simple dress a standout.
LOOK 4
Simple sheer perfection! This diaphanous gown practically floated down the runway, adorned with the finest polka dot print that popped against the filmy fabric.
LOOK 5
A demure '50s shape is reworked in a gauzy metallic fabric to make ladylike dressing suddenly sexy and modern.
