Take a behind-the-scenes look at the Zimmermann show that just showed in New York

For spring/summer 2018, creative director Nicky Zimmermann was inspired by a place all Australians will be familiar with - the kitschy surf culture of the Gold Coast. "I was inspired by images from the '60s and '70s of the sunny, beachside strip," explains Zimmermann. "Beachside suburbs like Surfers Paradise were developed into glamorous holiday spots, and the must-visit honeymoon destination of the time. I was really attracted to the simple, sunny feeling in the photos." Titled Goldentime, the collection is a paean to the retro architecture of the Gold Coast and how it contrasts with the white sandy beaches and aqua tones of the surf.

It's a typically joyful and summery fresh Zimmermann collection, stamped with stripes, cut-out lace, citrus-coloured florals and a sense of nostalgia for simpler days past.
