And he sure knows how to produce a showstopper: his magical Métiers d'Art 2016 collection show, which took place in the early hours of this morning, had guests spellbound. The scene? The iconic Cinecitta Studios in Rome, where iconic films such as Roman Holiday, La Dolce Vita and Cleopatra were all filmed. The setting? Before the models took to the street, Lagerfeld premiered his highly anticipated short film,Once and Forever, starring Kristen Stewart (who was seated front row). And then the show really started: models spilled out of the Metro station and onto the runway, in a wave of monochrome separates, pearl-studded dresses and tweed, all imbued with a rock n' roll edge care of fishnet stockings and mussed up hair (including some dishevelled Bardot-style beehives). Lagerfeld darlings Lara Stone and Freja Beha Erichsen lent their effortless cool to the catwalk, as did Chanel newbie Bella Hadid.
