Take a tour of Burberry’s new Australian 'Tales of a Trench Coat' exhibition
#theburodaily
The British fashion house known for the impeccable craftsmanship of its iconic trench coat celebrates the history and evolution of the garment in Melbourne
This week, Burberry hosted a sophisticated evening in the Chadstone boutique to mark the opening of the newly-expanded store. The soiree also launched an in-store experience in the form of a peek behind the scenes to the work rooms and processes behind the iconic Burberry trench.
Including a display of Burberry gabardine, (the weather-proof fabric invented by Thomas Burberry for his trenches) a display showcasing the intricate inner workings of the garment and special looks from the Burberry archive - one in particular dating back to a South Pole expedition in the early 1900s. A portrait studio is also situated in the space for a limited amount of time, (and is surprisingly flattering).
The exhibition will be open during Chadstone Shopping Centre's opening hours until 21 May.
