An intimate look at the Mademoiselle Privé exhibition via portraits of the beautiful friends of Chanel

Chanel excels at great many things, but it must be said that the house has a really great family of ambassadors and friends. From It-girls of past and present such as Alice Dellal, Jemima Kirke, Kristen Stewart, Lily Collins, Lily-Rose Depp and Vanessa Paradis to actresses of Julianne Moore and Isabelle Huppert's calibre - it's hard to argue with King Karl's taste in women over the years.

In honour of today's official public opening of Mademoiselle Privé in Seoul (an exhibition focusing on the heart and soul of the Chanel house: Gabrielle Chanel) we have exclusive access to behind-the-scenes portraits of Chanel VIPs shot by Karl Lagerfeld. Snapped by Leila Smara and Olivier Saillant, these candid photos present an unfiltered, yet magnetic look at the masterfel Karl shooting some of his favourite ingénues. Decked out in Chanel Haute Couture and re-editions from the 'Bijoux de Diamants' collection, they make a stunning sight.
