A feast for the eyes
You might want to keep an eye out for Specsavers' latest collaboration. They've teamed up with French fashion powerhouse Balmain for a stylish, yet affordable eyewear collection.
The new range will consist of 15 optical glasses and six prescription sunglasses styles, featuring upswept cat's eye designs, as well as classic round and exaggerated angular shapes, in a colour palette of glossy black, gold, pink and tortoiseshell. The statement frames are feminine, whilst staying true to the strong Balmain aesthetic, with subtle Balmain brand details found on every frame, including a gold 'B' on the temple tips and detailed embellishments on the frames, inspired by the Balmain belt chain collection.
Spokesperson for the brand, Maï Dao-Vu says the Balmain range is as an incredible opportunity to inspire fashion-conscious spectacle wearers to update their wardrobes with a statement piece of eyewear. "The Specsavers collaboration has provided the opportunity to bring everyone into the House of Balmain," says Maï. "We wanted to add a signature Balmain twist to classic and modern styles so that the frames could hint at exclusivity while maintaining the simplicity of an everyday look."
Specsavers continues to deliver on its commitment to making high-end fashion accessible to everyone, as Specsavers Head of Frames, Juan Carlos Camargo, explains. "The Balmain eyewear collection is as affordable as it is luxurious and we're so excited to welcome Balmain to our existing designer portfolio," he says. "Balmain is one of the world's most well-known and influential high-fashion brands and we're confident that this new collection will offer something truly unique to our customers."
Just like their other high fashion collaborations in the past (our favourite being the Ellery collab), the range is affordable, with prices starting from $299 for two pairs.
The Specsavers x Balmain collaboration is available exclusively at Specsavers stores nationwide and online from Thursday September 14.
