Inspired by the winding city streets and to-die-for treats of Paris - think Ladurée macarons and pastel pastilles - comes this have-to-have-it new jewellery collection by Cartier. From latticed gold rings that evoke The City of Light's baroque architecture to rings piled high with blue sapphires, aquamarine, diamonds and pearls, it's a collection as irresistible as a sugar-laden afternoon treat.

Titled Nouvelle Vague, the collection comprises rings, earrings, bracelets and standout necklaces, all liberally sprinkled with pastel gems. Take the collar-style pink gold necklace studded with amethysts, aquamarines, tourmalines, spinels and diamonds (sigh) or the pink gold earrings dripping with lapis lazuli, milky moon quartz, chalcedonies, turquoises, blue sapphires, aquamarine and diamonds (out September).
There are also yellow and white gold pieces and more restrained designs with diamonds and black jade. Most pieces are available to order from next month, while others are out from September. In the mood to spoil yourself with a little cadeau? Visit au.cartier.com.
