Releasing a tongue-in-cheek advertising shot in the same style of Balenciaga's minimalist luxury was released by Swedish agency ACNE who worked with IKEA to inform customers how they could identify an original bag or a Balenciaga 'fake'.

ACNE Creative Director, Johan Holmgren, was positively tickled by the exchange, admitting he found Balenciaga's move to be "unexpected and brilliant."

"I liked the flirt and I thought, 'Why not flirt back?'" explained Holmgren. "And we did."
