Alexander Wang is adding another string to his bow
Heavy metal
We reported back in August that Alexander Wang's contract with Balenciaga wasn't to be renewed, but the American designer has kept himself busy since then, working on his first major jewellery collection for his eponymous brand. "I always wanted to do jewellery, but I never felt like I had the opportunity," Wang told WWD. "I've had my hands quite full. But I really got exposed to it when I went to Balenciaga and I really enjoyed the process."
The sharp-eyed got a first taste of the collection in Wang's S/S '16 runway show, where models wore three pieces - chunky chain earrings in brass-plated palladium, a gold-plated lock necklace and lock cuff. Wang has since added to the collection to include pill-inspired pieces and has plans to expand it further.

Made in Italy, the collection riffs on the hardware Wang has showcased on bags and accessories in the past. It launches on alexanderwang.com and in Alexander Wang stores next week; keep an eye out for it on net-a-porter.com and mytheresa.com in March 2016.
