They're the stunning handbags slung over every cool fashion girl's shoulder at MBFWA and the A/W '16 shows - and even though we didn't need any more convincing, Gucci has gone and upped the ante with a bespoke service for its iconic Dionysus creation. Inspired by creative director Alessandro Michele's fascination with punk culture and his passion for self-expression, the Dionysus DIY service gives customers the choice of embroidery, trims, hardware and monogrammed initials on both the large and small iterations of the bag.
From butterflies, lizards, bees, dragonflies, snakes, roses and peonies as embroidery to a choice of crocodile, python or sueded trim and Swarovski-encrusted monogrammed initials - the chance to really personalise your carryall is certainly a seductive prospect. The bespoke service even extends to the Dionysus Top Handle bag with the bamboo feature - customers can choose from four leathers in 18 shades, as well as 12 striped colours and four different coloured linings.
The DIY service is the first step in a customisation service that will soon extend to Gucci's Ace sneakers and Princetown shoes. First rolled out in the Milan Gucci flagship from May 25, the service will be offered globally in major fashion cities. Certainly the chance to own a Dioynsus bag like no one else makes it worth the wait? For more details, visit gucci.com/au
