F1 fanatic? Then this special edition Vantage S is right in your lane, says Noelle Faulkner
There are two types of people in this world. Those who spend their Mondays in winter struggling to say awake because their Sunday nights consist of yelling things like "Don't be a dick, Hamilton!", "Get it together, McLaren!", "Shut up! Ricciardo IS the best driver on the track!","SHOEEEYYYYYY!", "Who's that guy? Ohhhh, Perez..." and the 2017 special, "I miss Rosberg" at the TV. And then there are those who go to bed at a reasonable time and start their week afresh. If all that means nothing to you and you just Googled the word "shoey", then you are likely of the latter, though if you are one of the F1 fantatics, and you have a cheeky $260k to spare - the following might be of interest.
The 2017 Australian Grand Prix is just over a week away, and not only is it simply a very cool time to be in Melbourne - the smell, the sound, the hype... but as the premiere leg of the 2017 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, we are treated with the first taste of the season and get to cheer on Our Boi Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull Racing on his home turf (sort of, he's Perth-born, actually).
This year, those with the Red Bull Racing team sprit and penchant for collectables that you can actually slide behind the wheel of can take that passion a little further, with the launch of Aston Martin's Vantage S Red Bull Racing Edition, a celebration of the British motoring brand's "innovation partnership" with Red Bull Racing.
Available for order directly in time with the Grand Prix, the sexy and sporty Vantage S Red Bull Racing Edition will arrive in both a V8 and V12 and takes the already sumptuous and incredibly sleek finish of the Vantage S into a sportier field.
Given the tick of approval from Red Bull Racing drivers Ricciardo and Max Verstappen (literally, their signatures adorn the doorsill and inspection plaques), the Red Bull Racing edition has been tweaked by Aston Martin's personalization division, Q by Aston Martin, in order to create a stand out, race-ready drive.
Available in a rich Mariana Blue as standard (alternate options include gloss Tungsten Silver or satin Mariana Blue), the signature exterior features a carbon fibre grille, splitter, diffuser and fender vents, bold, yellow brake calipers and subtle, yet fierce red detailing. Inside sees Red Bull Racing headrest embroidery and carbon fibre trim inlays. Of course, being a Vantage S, this vehicle is already race-bred - the difference is now you can look the part.
Sure, it's not as wild as the AM-RB-001 Hypercar, the 6.5L V12 manta ray-meets-Batmobile jet of a car birthed from the partnership last year, priced at a cool couple of million, it's definitely more achievable and as close to the track as a lot of us are going to get. astonmartin.com
