The ultimate luxury: iPod docks made out of Formula One car parts
iXOOST was found in the city of Modena by Matteo Panini and Mirco Pecorari. The company specialises in creating unique and hand-made dock stations made out of the exhaust pipes - the most beautiful part of every car.
The goal of the creators is to mix great sound with technical precision and design. Three ingredients together help to achieve the highest level of audio quality. Each dock station is painted in its own colour and decorated with leather and wooden details. The unusual audio system features extremely innovative loudspeakers featuring a 140W subwoofer that gives the user the best listening experience. Each dock station can be created by the buyer. All you need to do is to choose between 8-, 10- or 12-cylinder supercar exhaust manifold, material for the base, colour for the leather parts and many other little details which will help to build a unique stereo system. As we know, there are no limitations to your imagination...
The dock consists of two parts: the base is machined from a block of aluminium with "horns" and actual exhaust pipe taken from a high- performance sports car as a soundboard for the woofer.
By far all iXOOST devices are compatible with iOS only which means that only iPhone and iPod users will be able to use it in a full experience. To connect the iPhone or iPod to the dock station you will need a special app that can be purchased for free in the App Store. The cost of the simplest dock stations starts from $7 222.
