Just when we thought a rose-gold mobile couldn't be any cooler, Apple has come in with a steaming hot competitor. Today, the tech company have announced that the iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 plus will be available in a bright, engine-red colour - and it's love already.

But the colour upgrade also comes with an even greater cause. The phone's vibrant finish is in conjunction with (PRODUCT) RED, with a portion of the processed going to The Global Fund in support of HIV/AIDS research.

"Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today's line up of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch," explains Tim Cook, Apple's CEO.

"The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT)RED offering to date in celebration of our partnership with (RED), and we can't wait to get it into customers' hands."

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus new (PRODUCT)RED edition will be available from apple.com at $1229 a pop.
