Well, nobody saw that coming. In what must surely be unprecedented in the entire history of the Academy Awards, Oscar presenter Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty were given the wrong winners envelope. Instead of reading out the true 2016 Best Picture winner - Moonlight - they read out La La Land.

After everyone from La La Land jumped up on stage to collect the Oscar, someone from the La La Land cut in and said, "There's a mistake. Moonlight - you guys won Best Picture. This is not a joke, I'm afraid they won the wrong thing." Eventually he held up the correct envelope and the crowd went wild. Talk about awkward.

Warren Beatty quickly explained the mishap, telling the crowd he had been handed Emma Stone's Best Actress envelope and that's why he's taken so long to read the winner. So while this was no fault of his own, it's easily the most dramatic moment of a pretty non-controversial Oscars ceremony... We can't wait to see who take the blame for this. Watch this space for updates.

You won’t believe how the 2017 Oscars just ended!
