There’s an NYC apartment purpose-built for ‘Netflix and chill’
And it works both ways
Whether you're into Netflix and chill or Netflix and chill (ICYMI, your favourite pastime is also a euphemism for casual hook-ups), there's now a special place in West Village, Manhattan, where you can do both. Newly listed on Airbnb, the one-bedroom apartment - Netflix-branded doona cover, bathrobes and all - can be booked on Saturday nights, exclusively for two people.
The brainchild of artist Tom Galle and internet-art company ART404, it's an experiment that's equal parts art installation and joke. "It's bringing a part of the internet to a real life experience," Galle told NME. "You don't have to sleep with a girl there or a guy there, we're just bringing the joke to real life."
As well as Netflix, which you watch (or don't watch, depending on which 'Netflix and chill' definition you're going with) broadcast by HD projector, the apartment boasts "the original Netflix and Chill bed", a fully stocked minibar with champagne, wine, spirits and mixers, a marble bathroom and access to the building's rooftop with views of the New York City skyline. BYO popcorn and - ahem - anything else you think you might need.
