‘Suits’ star reveals Meghan Markle had a secret Prince Harry ‘code’
On the DL
It turns out Ms Markle could have been a perfect undercover agent if the stage and now the royal family hadn't called to her. The princess-to-be has, according to Suits co-star, Wendell Pierce excellent skills at keeping very important news (her relationship with the most eligible bachelor in the world) strictly on the DL and even spoke in code when she did mention her now fiancée, Prince Harry.
Entertainment Weekly reports in an interview on Harry Connick Jr.'s talk show Harry, Pierce - who plays Markle's father on the show - said, "She met this nice guy and we always talked about him in code really. You know, 'How you doing?' 'Oh, I'm going to London, coming from London, whatever.'"
The 'London' translates to flame-haired Prince Harry of course - but for anyone who happened to overhear Pierce and Markle's exchanges with no knowledge of who Markle was dating - would never connect the dots of Markle's frequent visits to London to Markle dating the gent fifth in line to the throne. There are plenty of other much more plausible explanations - a love of British high tea, family over there, looking to adopt a corgi...
And just like a 'real' parent might give their daughter a wise pre-wedding pep talk, Pierce said towards the end of filming season 7 (Markle's last on the show) he told her, "I know your life is going to change but always know, no matter where you are, I will always be your loving fake father."
Vanity Fair reports Pierce also said in the interview on Harry that he's hoping to be invited to the royal nuptials which are only a few short months away on May 19. Surely the guest list is almost done and the invites in the post by now?
In other Markle and Prince Harry news, The Cut reports the couple have plans for Valentine's Day - or V-Day eve atleast - they're heading to Scotland on February 13 for their first official work trip to Edinburgh. It's unknown whether they'll stay overnight and spend Feb 14 in the highland capital or return to London - but where ever they are they'll be together which is romantic enough after living on different continents for the majority of their relationship.
