The #fyrefestival hashtag is the gift that keeps on giving


No doubt by now you've heard about Fyre Festival -the luxury music festival co-founded by Ja Rule, aimed at cashed-up millennials and promoted by Instagram models-cum disaster involving wild dogs, mass looting, sub-par cuisine and a lack of basic supplies, power and dry shelter, not to mention stranded attendees, some who paid >$25k for a ticket, that went down over the weekend. And if you're anything like us, you too were like "pass the popcorn" as you were glued to your phone, unable to believe that the events that were unfolding. It was as if the whole thing were some kind of satirical article cooked up by The Onion.

Of course, the internet likes to see rich people suffer - so it didn't take very long for the memes to roll in. Some likening Fyre Festival to The Hunger Games, others enjoying the fact that wealthy millennials are being forced to experience what it's like to be a refugee or live in a third world country and of course, others just laughing about the fact that these suckers paid thousands of dollars to attend a festival with a lineup promising Blink 182, Migos, Lil Yachty, Major Lazer, a DJ set from Disclosure and some of Kanye's G.O.O.D Music artists.
