After creating the award-winning musical film La La Land, it's no surprise director Damien Chazelle and actor Ryan Gosling have already signed up for a second film together. Only this time, Ryan will be trading the city of stars for actual stars; in Neil Armstrong's first biopic.

First Man will see Gosling playing the iconic American astronaut on his journey during one of the most dangerous space missions in history. The film is written by Josh Singer, as a Hollywood Reporter states will be a drama that's a "visceral, first-person account of NASA's mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on the years 1961-1969 and Armstrong, the astronaut who became the first man to set foot on the moon."

Although it's not out until 2018, we're already feeling Oscar fever... could this be Ryan's moment? Here's hoping.
